How to buy Japanese stationery from abroad (2026)

This is the cheapest thing to have sent from Japan. Most of it weighs under 500g, and 500g to the US is ¥3,900.

Why you can't just buy it

Where it stops

  1. The Hobonichi Techo sells out between November and January
  2. Custom-made notebooks are ordered in the shop, in person
  3. Limited colours of ink are shop-exclusive

The shops

Where to find it

Every link goes to the shop's own site, and I checked each one loads. Shops not listed here are usually fine too — if it's a Japanese site, I can probably buy from it.

What it costs to send

Japan Post's own published EMS rates, as of October 2026. I don't mark these up — you pay what it actually cost.
